Sociologist Ray Oldenburg coined the term “third place” in his 1989 book ‘The Great Good Place.’ Third Places’ are not your home (1st place) or your work (second place). Third places are spaces where you connect with community, exchange ideas, and build relationships that push your life authentically in the direction you most desire. ‘Third places’ make us feel as if we belong to a society bigger than ourselves and add an x-factor to our lives that can only be felt. It is a proprietary mix of pride and peace and fulfillment and redirects running away to running towards.
